The Ballarat Society of Model Engineers Incorporated was established 1985 and celebrated its 21st in 2006

Members interests cover all aspects of Model Engineering including

  • Locomotives ( steam, petrol & electric),
  • Traction Engines,
  • Stationary Engines ( steam, petrol, multi cylinder),
  • Boats.

    • The Society has a track located north of Ballarat in Swinglers Road at the Invermay Recreation Reserve.
    The track caters for 3½", 5" and 7¼" gauges, is over 600m long. 2½" gauge track is in the planning stages.
    The Society does not currently have public running, private running is on the first Saturday of each month.

    Meetings are held in the Invermay Recreation Hall at 8pm on the fourth Monday of each month (except December)
